Classic Jazz for all ages.....

Welcome to In the Pocket. We are a 7-piece "little big band" based in Burlington, Vermont playing jazz standards from the swing and be-bop era. And with our vocalist, we cover a broad range of favorites from broadway shows to songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and other legends. We're a perfect fit for weddings, anniversary parties, retirement parties, annual meetings, fundraisers, dances, birthdays, banquets, cocktail parties, corporate events, festivals, and concerts. We have a blast playing for audiences of all ages, and are not satisfied until people get up and dance!. We'd love to share our talents and love for jazz with you to make your event fun and memorable.

In the Pocket brings together a diverse group of musicians who love the jazz classics:

  • Dorothy McIntyre - Vocals
  • Michael Carrese - Trumpet
  • Thomas Frink - Saxophone
  • Chris Frieman - Piano
  • David Epstein - Bass
  • Nick Aloi - Drums
  • with frequent guest artist George Voland - Valve Trombone

Were also able to "slim down" to meet your needs and fit the setting. So give a listen and then drop us a line!

My husband and I booked In the Pocket for our wedding, and were blown away by how easy they were to work with, how professional they are, and their great performance. They did a wonderful job, and really set the whole tone for the wedding -- cool, classy, and great dancing music! We would book them again if we could find any excuse!”
